Boy Freed From Dug Hole At A Nantucket Beach

A boy was reportedly freed from a hole dug at a Nantucket beach on Monday afternoon.

The Inquirer and Mirror reports the eight-year-old had excavated the hole with his brother at Madequecham beach when it partially caved in on him.

An ambulance was called out, but by the time they arrived, the boy was out, and his parents reportedly declined a hospital transport.

Last summer, a boy had to be rescued out of a similar situation on a different island beach.

The Nantucket harbormaster has issued a reminder not to dig holes deeper than your knees.
