Eastham Police Arrest Man After Water Rescue

Eastham Police arrested a breaking-and-entering suspect after he was rescued from a body of water on Sunday night.

Officers responded to someone yelling for help from Depot Pond, but they said the individual who was in the pond stopped making noise when the police identified themselves.

The Eastham Fire Department then reportedly sent out a boat to pick up Joseph Selwyn of Exeter, Rhode Island, and he was treated for possible hypothermia.

Authorities determined Selwyn broke into a residence on Samoset Road earlier in the evening.
