Barnstable High School Teacher Placed On Leave After Alleged Assault

A teacher has been placed on administrative leave after allegedly assaulting a student at Barnstable High School.

Barnstable Police are investigating the incident, which happened at around 8:15 yesterday morning.

Superintendent of Barnstable Public Schools Dr. Meg Mayo-Brown said in a statement that a Barnstable High School teacher “inappropriately physically intervened in a matter between two students.”

A video believed to be taken by a classmate shows the teacher stepping in-between two students at the front of the classroom and then shows the teacher grabbing the student, throwing him onto the ground.

The investigation is ongoing.
