Nantucket Voters Reject Short Term Rental Regulations

Nantucket voters shot down a proposal to regulate short-term house rentals at a town meeting on Saturday.

According to a report from the Inquirer and Mirror, the article from the Political Action Committee ACK now would have established a rental registry, set a limit on how many days a home could be rented each year, and require minimum stays.

The group argued that short-term rentals which are being driven by investors are reducing the year-round housing stock on the island.
