State Continues Unemployment Payments Through Summer

Massachusetts is planning to continue paying the extra $300 a week to unemployed residents through the summer.

Governor Charlie Baker says the state will continue to support the supplemental payments until September 4th.

Some states led by republicans like Baker have opted to end the extra payments to help coax people back to work.

Baker says Massachusetts is a high-cost state, and unemployed people need the extra money.
