Governor Baker Announces New Road Safety Legislation

Governor Charlie Baker announced new road safety legislation Monday that includes the possibility for communities to install red light cameras and a proposal that would allow police to stop drivers for not wearing their seat belt.

Baker says the roadways are a fundamental part of the state’s infrastructure.

The Governor also announced provisions that create harsher penalties those who drive with a suspended or revoked license.
