North Atlantic Right Whales Spotted Near Martha's Vineyard

The New England Aquarium says a group of North Atlantic Right Whales, including a mother-calf pair, were seen swimming south of Martha’s Vineyard this past Sunday.

A survey team from the aquarium spotted the whales about twenty miles south of the vineyard.

The mother whale was first sighted with her newest calf off Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida in January.

This is the mother whale's fifth calf.

The weekend sighting represented only the second time she was seen with a calf in northern waters.
