Nantucket Painting Contractor Pleads Guilty To Tax Fraud

A Nantucket painting contractor has agreed to plead guilty tax fraud charges, the Boston U.S attorney’s office alleges that 51 year old Durvan Lewis diverted over 1.5-million dollars to his personal bank account and did not tell his accountant.

His company, DCL painting, also allegedly paid its employees under the table and failed to report and pay taxes on the wages.

No hearing date has been set for the guilty plea. He faces fines and up to five years in prison when sentenced.
