A man is being charged in connection to an attempted convenience store robbery in Hyannis.

A suspect reportedly went into the A.J. Mart store on Main Street on Tuesday night, ripped the plastic barrier in front of the cash register, and demanded money.

Police say the store owner confronted the suspect and was assaulted by him after chasing him outside.

Ryan Dubee of Sandwich was arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Thursday on charges including attempting to commit an unarmed robbery.
