The Chatham Board of Selectmen is no more.
The town was informed last week that Governor Charlie Baker signed special legislation changing the name to Chatham Select Board.
Selectmen voted last year -- on the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote -- to make the switch to the more gender-neutral title after it was approved in town meeting in 2019.
Chatham becomes the eighth Cape Cod town to make the change.
