Massachusetts Representatives Respond To Chaos In The Capitol

The Massachusetts Delegation is starting to react to the chaos and violence in Washington this afternoon. Congressman Richard Neal, the chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee issued a short statement:

"I am safe, currently in the Capitol complex sheltering in place. We are following Capitol Police orders and are thankful that they are keeping us safe during this violence."

Congressman Jim McGovern is also speaking out.

"This is not a protest. It is a terrorist attack on our democracy," says the Congressman.

Senator Ed Markey tweeted out this afternoon that he and his staff are safe and they are monitoring the situation by the moment.

Markey continued, calling the acts of today "sedition."

Some Republicans have asked the President to tell demonstrators to go home. It is unclear as to whether or not he will speak on the issue.
