The National Guard is out with a plan for a machine gun range at Camp Edwards on Joint Base Cape Cod.
It is the first time such a proposal has been made for the state.
A state environmental report says that there would be no apparent impact on the area environment.
The proposal says that most of the noise would be confined to the base itself.
Written comments can be submitted by the public.
