Barnstable Police say it is what happens when police and the public work together.
In Hyannis a man allegedly drives his car into a sign on Sea Street.
An alert resident called police told them that a white Pathfinder took off toward Main Street.
Using that information, police found the car and the man and arrested him on a variety of charges.
He will be arraigned later today.
