Cape Cod's entire Beacon Hill delegation has signed a letter sent to the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management calling for the approval of a permit for Vineyard Wind.
The letter, which includes 40 state lawmakers overall, says the offshore wind project is critical to Massachusetts and other states in the Northeast meeting their clean energy goals.
The BOEM announced last August it was withholding the final environmental impact statement for Vineyard Wind to study the wider impacts of the offshore wind industry.
A final decision is expected in December.
