A second grade teacher at the St Pius School in Yarmouth has been named a recipient of a national award.
Jennifer Perrault has been named a recipient of the National University System, Sanford Teacher Award.
She wins a $10,000 award for being the top teacher in the state for her inspiration toward the kids and profession.
She now will compete for the national award which would earn her $50,000.
Among other things, Ms. Perrault is being cited for her ability to teach through kind words, empathy and compassion.
