Two state lawmakers, Senator Julian Cyr of Truro and State Rep Sarah Peake of Provinctown have sent a letter to the state asking for a comprehensive safety plan for the expansion of the Cape Cod Rail Trail along Route 6.
There are separate projects that are being worked on and the legislators want them linked.
The current plan is to extend the path into Wellfleet while Cyr and Peake want it to continue to Provincetown as well.
A meeting in Wellfleet is planned for early next year.
