New Regulations Proposed For Drinking Water Systems In Massachusetts

The Baker Administration is proposing tough new regulations - that they say will be enforceable on drinking water systems throughout The Cape and the rest of the state.

The regulations deal with sites that are contaminated with PFAS and other chemicals. State officials say that since there are no federal standards on PFAS the state had to take its own action.

The State standard will reduce the federal "recommendation" of 70 parts per trillion to 20 parts per trillion.

State officials say you have until the end of February to comment.
