Officials at the National Weather Service say we are in the middle of intense winds and rain that will last through the end of the week.
By the time it is over we could see somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 inches of rain on The Cape and Nantucket.
Winds are expected to reach a peak of 60 miles per hour with sustained winds of between 20 and 40 miles per hour.
A flood watch remains in effect until about 11AM tomorrow. The high wind warning is in effect until 6 tomorrow morning.
MEMA and the National Weather Service is warning that we could see a fair amount of beach erosion from the storm.
So far there are no reports of any shelters that are open although MEMA and local officials say they may have to do that depending on duration and intensity.
Waves could peak at about 20 feet.
