Cape Cod Grandmothers Against Gun Violence

According to a report that just came out about two weeks ago from the Pew Research Center…suicide accounted for 60% of gun deaths in the United States in 2017. And, even though violent crime gets more of the headlines, this has been the case for quite a long time.

In fact, 51% of all suicides in the U.S. are committed using a firearm. And that number has grown each year for the past 13 years…since 2006!

Well, there is a group that was established here on the Cape back in 2013 called Cape Cod Grandmothers Against Gun Violence…and they are putting on a discussion on this topic coming up next week that is free and open to the public.

So, Kevin Matthews asked the vice president of Cape Cod Grandmothers Against Gun Violence, Donna Wald and their media chair, Patricia Sherlock to join him talk about their organization and the event.
