Vineyard Commission Sets Dates For Gay Head Bingo Hall

The Martha's Vineyard Commission is taking steps to review the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head's proposed bingo hall. The commission is set to meet with the tribe this week and hold a public hearing on June 6th. The MVC is considering the bingo hall as a development of regional impact. No construction has started yet but the tribe has cleared land in Aquinnah. The town and the tribe have been jousting in the legal arena about whether the tribe should be able to construct the gambling establishment without interference.
