The Falmouth Police Department says an 18th-century headstone reported stolen from a cemetery on Sunday wasn't actually stolen. The police department says the family of the deceased had the stone removed for repairs. Someone reported seeing what they thought was a burglar load the headstone into a pickup truck at the Old Burying Grounds. According to police, the headstone will be returned when repairs are complete.
