The State Senate has passed over the governor’s veto a measure that now allows families who receive public assistance to receive additional benefits if they have another child. The ban on the benefits dates back to the 1990’s. State Senator Vinny deMacedo among just three votes to keep the ban. The measure passed the house and senate overwhelmingly.
