Wareham Police Arrest Burglary Suspect

Wareham Police have arrested the suspect in the “Wreckless Hobbies” shop burglary.

That burglary occurred on February 21st just before 3:30 a.m. when a male smashed his way into the shop and stole multiple items valued at more than $3,500.

Wareham officers noticed that this past weekend, a similar crime was committed in Foxboro and Wareham detectives contacted their counterparts in Foxboro. A search warrant was obtained by Wareham detectives and on Tuesday, March 20th, they – along with officers from Bourne and Foxboro – raided the home and placed the suspect under arrest. Discovered in the raid were two loaded firearms, one in a jacket pocket of the suspect.

Inside the home detectives confiscated several previously stolen items. Arrested was Andrew Darby, 29, of 8 Beach Street in Bourne. He is charged with Break and Entering into a building in the night with intent to commit a felony, Larceny from a Building, and Vandalizing property.

Darby was taken to Wareham PD where he was held on $10,000 cash bail. He is due in Wareham District Court on Wednesday.
