Chatham Town Meeting Voters Will See Accessory Dwelling Unit Question
3/14/19
Chatham Selectmen are approving the placement of a bylaw allowing accessory dwelling units, on the Town Meeting warrant in May.
The Cape Cod Chronicle reports selectmen unanimously voted to support the amendment at a Monday meeting.
The bylaw would allow no more than twenty property owners to create one of the units in their primary, year-round residence, and they can rent the unit to another year-round resident at the market rate.
Supporters say it's a new approach to create more housing.
