Wareham Man Arrested After Crashing His Car On Cranberry Highway

Wareham Police responded Saturday night to a report of a one vehicle accident on the Cranberry Highway near Robertson’s Auto.

At the scene, officers found a damaged vehicle blocking the entire East bound lane, but no driver could be located.

The car was registered to a male on Cromesett Road.

Around 9:40 P.M. police were alerted to a man yelling obscenities near Shenanigans Bar and saw people pointing to a marsh area adjacent to the business.

Police officers, along with Wareham Fire Department rescuers, assisted in getting 43 year old Jason Mackenzie out of the icy water and transported him to Tobey Hospital for treatment.

Mackenzie is being summoned to court to face charges of operating under the influence of alcohol, 3rd offense, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
