Falmouth Man Has Commercial Shellfishing License Revoked

A Falmouth man had his commercial shellfish permit revoked for six months after he was discovered shellfishing commercially illegally.

The Falmouth Department of Marine and Environment says a joint patrol with Falmouth Department of Marine and Environmental Services and Mass Environmental Police resulted in apprehending Richard Baker after he removed his boat from Great Pond in Falmouth. He was cited for commercially shellfishing on a Sunday and failing to commercially tag shellfish.

Officials removed 106 undersized shellfish and charged Baker with other state violations.

A total of 1,024 illegal shellfish were seized during the stop. All shellfish was returned to the waters of Great Bay for legal harvest.
