Representative Whelan Gets Committee Assignments for 191st General Court

State Representative Timothy Whelan has his legislative committee assignments for the 191st General Court.House Minority Leader Bradley Jones has appointed Whelan to continue serving on the House Committee on Ways & Means, to the Joint Committee on Public Service, and to the Joint Committee on Higher Education.In addition to serving his second term as the Cape & Islands delegation's representative to House Ways & Means, the Brewster native will serve again as the Ranking Republican on the Joint Committee on Public Service.

In a statement Rep. Whelan offered, "I would like to thank Leader Jones for his confidence in me and I look forward to my service on these very important committees and the volume of work we have before us.Massachusetts certainly leads the way in so many areas, including the value of our talented public workforce and our outstanding public community colleges and universities.I am heartened to continue the work on these committees again in this upcoming legislative session".

Representative Whelan is serving in his third term representing the 1st Barnstable District, including precincts in the Towns of Barnstable, Brewster, Dennis, and Yarmouth.He entered the legislature after serving 26 years in law enforcement with the Massachusetts State Police and the Worcester County Sheriff's Department.
