A proposed needle exchange program in Falmouth will be front and center for tonight’s Board of Selectmen meeting.
The addition of that topic to tonight’s agenda was prompted by a public outcry over the plan.
Expected to attend tonight’s meeting is a representative from the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod who will address the gathering as to why a needle exchange program in Falmouth is a positive move. The organization has leased the building at 178 East Falmouth Highway for the needle exchange program which will also include screenings for HIV, sexually transmitted diseases, and hepatitis.
Opponents point out that the proposed location is across the street from St. Anthony’s Church.
