U.S. BOEM to Hear Public Comment on Wind Farm Plans

The United States Bureau of Ocean Energy Management will hold a 45-day public comment period for Vineyard Wind’s Draft Environmental Impact Statement as part of the agency’s review of Vineyard Wind’s proposed 800-megawatt wind farm to be built in federal waters about 34 miles south of Cape Cod.

Public input will include five meetings in the region and will end on January 21, 2019.

The Draft Environmental Impact Statement, or DEIS, provides an analysis of potential environmental impacts that are associated with the project, or Construction and Operations Plan that was initially submitted by Vineyard Wind to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management in 2017.

Full details regarding the public meetings and directions for submitting comment can be found on Vineyard Wind’s website.
