The Yarmouth Police Department is continuing its investigation into Friday’s accident where a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle.
It happened shortly after 7 p.m. at 931 Route 28 in South Yarmouth.
First responders arrived and treated a 67-year old man who lives nearby on Long Pond Drive. The man was taken to Cape Cod Hospital suffering from non-life threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates the man was walking across Route 28 from south to north--not in a crosswalk--and was struck by a westbound 2016 Jeep Patriot operated by a 25 year old woman from Old Main Street in South Yarmouth.
Yarmouth Police Crash Reconstruction Officers and members of the Barnstable County Sheriff's Crime Scene Unit are conducting a follow-up investigation.
