A tragic accident Saturday afternoon took the life of a 7-year old from North Harwich.
Harwich Fire officials say the initial 911 call, received shortly after 3 p.m., was that a child had been hit by a skid steer at 106 Main Street in North Harwich. Harwich Fire and Police responded to the scene and discovered Damien Larsen, a 2nd-grader at Stony Brook Elementary School in Brewster, had suffered critical injuries. Following immediate treatment at the scene, the victim was taken to Cape Cod Hospital for further treatment but did not survive his injuries.
The accident happened at the youngster’s grandfather’s house.
Harwich Police and the Mass State Police are investigating the tragedy.
