It was a crowded town meeting in Oak Bluffs as voters decided on a number of warrant issues.
Voters approved money to build a new town hall in addition to spending money to make needed repairs to the town school.
The Vineyard Gazette reports that approval was needed by a two-thirds majority to authorize spending an additional $1.3 million to get the new town hall project started. Just under $10 million was already approved by voters at the 2017 annual town meeting.
Voters will now head to the polls on Thursday to decide if the spending should be excluded from the Proposition 2-1/2 tax cap. Polls are open tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Oak Bluffs library meeting room.
