Health Connector Communications Director, Jason Lefferts, says getting the message of enrollment to Cape residents is essential.
"In terms of geography, the Cape has a higher rate of uninsured compared to the rest of the state. Massachusetts leads the national, overall, with a 97% insured rate which means three percent of the people don't have health insurance," said Lefferts, "but here on the Cape that figure is 5.7% so it's almost double."
Lefferts says the Open Enrollment in Massachusetts runs from November 1 through January 23, 2019 and anyone without health insurance can sign up for coverage. He adds that Health Connector offers 57 plans from nine carriers.
