State Representative Timothy Whelan (R-Brewster) has announced that his campaign for re-election has been endorsed by the Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA). The MTA represents approximately 110,000 members in almost 400 local associations, including the public school and college teacher unions in the 1st Barnstable District.
“Tim Whelan is on the right course regarding issues crucial to students and educators,” said MTA President Merrie Najimy, “As a state representative, he is an advocate for public education at all levels. He demonstrates a deep understanding of the connection between strong public schools, excellent public colleges and universities, and thriving communities. MTA members are recommending Tim Whelan in the 1st Barnstable district.”

Rep. Whelan is serving in his second term serving the 1st Barnstable District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He serves as the Ranking member on the Joint Committee on Public Service. He also serves on the House Committee on Ways & Means and on the Joint Committee on Higher Education.
