A Nantucket man was arraigned Monday in Nantucket District Court on a charge of assault with intent to murder.
Francisco Menjivar Cortez, 41, of 40 Macy’s Lane has also been charged with four counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
The Inquirer and Mirror reports Cortez was arrested early Saturday morning after Nantucket Police were summoned to Macy’s Lane by members of the Fire Department. They were responding to a non-specific call around 12:30 a.m. where they found a person who had been stabbed multiple times. The victim, a 46-year old man, identified Cortez as the attacker.
Cortez has been ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing later this week.
