MA Pediatric Cancer Rates Among Nation's Highest

A new study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows Massachusetts has one of the highest rates of pediatric cancer in the country.

There were 3,584 cases of pediatric cancer in Massachusetts recorded between 2003 and 2014. That's a rate of more than 182 per one million, among the higher rates in the country.

Previous studies by the CDC focused on regional differences. The most recent study, released this week, provides state-by-state statistics.

Rates were highest in New Hampshire, Washington DC, and New Jersey. Pediatric cancer rates were lowest in South Carolina and Mississippi.
