Gasoline prices in the state are receding slowly.
In its weekly survey of gas prices, AAA Northeast finds the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular is $2.87 per gallon. That price is two cents lower than the national average of $2.89.
Triple-A found a range in the price of self-serve regular of 47 cents in its latest survey, from a low of $2.57 per gallon to a high of $3.04.
