Possible Changes to Bridges Work Schedule

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers say work on the Sagamore Bridge might be finished ahead of schedule. The initial timetable for the work was about two month, taking it to the end of May.

But the Bourne Enterprise reports the Army Corps says the work is on schedule and may be done slightly ahead of schedule.

Bourne Selectman, Donald Pickard, informed the Board on Tuesday night that he was given that information by Sean McDonald, manager for the Cape Cod Canal for the Army Corps. McDonald also says no final decision has been made on the plan to work on the Bourne Bridge for a three month period just after Labor Day and that it is possible that work could be put off until next year.
