A fishing dragger from the Rock Harbor fleet brought an unexploded military shell to shore Wednesday morning around 10:30. The ordinance was picked up in their nets while in Cape Cod Bay.

Orleans Police and Fire personal secured the area until the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad and Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams arrived and secured the shell. It was then taken to the end of Rock Harbor, near the jetty and in a controlled environment, safely detonated .
