Voters in the twelve towns that comprise the district for the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in Harwich have overwhelmingly approved funding a new high school by a 3 to 1 margin.
Voters in every town in the district gave their support at the polls Tuesday and when the votes were counted, the project was approved 12,363 to 4,014.
School superintendent Robert Sanborn told WXTK News it was a great outcome.
“I can’t tell you how gratified I am at the results and it’s five years of work,” said Sanborn. “I think it has been communication, transparency, and the 75-25 result in the end speaks for itself.”
The total cost of the project is 128-million dollars with the state picking up more than $47 million and the towns splitting the balance based on the percentage of students from each town who attend the school.
