The driving lesson didn’t exactly go as planned for a Martha’s Vineyard youngster.
A young driver accidently drove his father’s car off the Edgartown town landing and into the water Monday afternoon. The boy’s father was in the passenger seat.
The youngster told police he was taking a few turns around the parking lot when he stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake, sending the car over the bulkhead.
Both father and son were able to get out of the car and back on land on their own. They were not injured.
This is the fourth time a vehicle has been driven into the waters off Martha’s Vineyard this summer.
