A convicted rapist will be going to state prison for the next 15 to 18 years.
Jorge Adames-Garcia was found guilty of kidnapping and raping a woman on Nantucket in 2013. The New York City man was sentenced Monday in Barnstable Superior Court. Following his release from prison, Adames-Garcia must serve ten years of probation.
After a three day trial in May, Adames-Garcia was found guilty of kidnapping and two counts of aggravated rape. He forced his victim into his car, sexually assaulted her, then left her by the side of the road.
