Yarmouth Chamber Fights to Keep Rest Stop Open

Dollar sign made from one dollar bills

The Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce is stepping up to see that the rest area on Route 6 eastbound remains open for the summer.

The Chamber is asking that money from the Cape and Islands license plate program be used to do that.

Chamber Executive Director Mary Vilbon will be requesting $40,000 from the County Commissioners at Wednesday’s meeting.

About 85,000 people use the rest area each year and Vilbon says last year, 40,000 visited the Chamber’s visitor center at the rest area.
