An alert citizen came to the aid of Bourne police officers in apprehending a suspect of breaking and entering.
Officers say on Monday afternoon, there was a forced entry into a home on Bayberry Road. An investigation disclosed several items missing from the residence.
The search for the suspect was made easier because a citizen photographed what he said was a suspicious male on the property. As a result of the pictures, officers were able to identify the suspect as John Allen, 18, of Onset.
Police executed a search warrant on Allen’s residence and discovered several of the stolen items in his possession.
Allen was arrested and arraigned in Falmouth District Court for Breaking and Entering a building in the daytime, a felony, destruction of property greater than $250, Larceny Under $250, and malicious defacing of property.
