A Sandwich woman is under arrest for the stabbing of a Hyannis man.
Barnstable Police Lt. John Murphy tells WXTK News that officers responded to 71 Main Street around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon for a reported assault and possible stabbing.
Arriving officers found a 23-year old Hyannis man suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to Cape Cod Hospital where he was treated and released.
Arrested at the scene was Junelle Jones-Saunders, 23, of Sandwich. She was taken to Barnstable Police Headquarters, charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and held on $2,500 cash bail. Jones-Saunders faces arraignment today in Barnstable District Court.
Police are investigating the cause but say it is not a domestic violence situation.
