Yarmouth PD Arrest 2 with Six Outstanding Warrants

It didn’t take the newest member of the Yarmouth Police squad long to get acclimated to the department.

K9 Gauge, along with his partner, Proactive Anti-Crime Unit Officer Nicholas Ambrosini, were instrumental in the arrest of two people who, between them, had six outstanding warrants.

Ambrosini and Gauge noticed two people acting suspicious as they talked with the occupants of a brown van in the Bass River motel parking lot on Route 28. After calling for backup, the Yarmouth officers confronted the male and female who gave false identities to the officers. An investigation revealed their true identities and both had numerous outstanding warrants.

Arrested were Catherine Beckwith, 45, of Yarmouth and Lonnie Lewis, 35, of Fall River. After spending the night at Yarmouth Police headquarters, the two were arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Tuesday.

Beckwith’s outstanding warrants were for shoplifting, Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash, Failure to return Leased Property, and Operating with a Suspended License.

Lewis had outstanding warrants for Operating with a suspended License, Possession of Class E Drugs. He was also arraigned on 4 counts of credit card fraud and receiving stolen property.
