A Sandwich pediatrician has resigned following a guilty plea to a charge of indecent assault on a child over the age of 14.
63-year old Torrey Toltin is currently serving time at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility in Bourne. He is expected to serve six months of an 18-month sentence followed by five years of probation.
Toltin entered a guilty plea to the charge on January 26 in Barnstable District Court.
A patient made the accusation against Toltin in February 2015.
Details of the case are not available because the police report of the incident has been sealed.
