The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Rhode Island and Eastern Massachusetts , an area that includes Barnstable and Dukes counties.The Watch is in effect from Wednesday evening through late Thursday night. Heavy snow will cover the region with an expected accumulation of 8 to 12 inches.The NWS says the snow should begin early Thursday morning and last through much of the day before ending Thursday evening. Snow could be heavy at times and have an impact on the morning and evening commute.Traveling could be hazardous due to snow-covered roads and limited visibility.
