The MSPCA-Cape Cod Adoption Center in Centerville holds its third annual “Super Bowl Sunday Polar Plunge” fundraiser on Sunday and the need for those funds grew considerably this week.
Executive Director, Mary Sarah Fairweather, tells WXTK News the Center recently took in more than two dozen cats that were roughly a third of the number of cats living in a Fall River apartment. The owner had reached out to the MSPCA asking for help:
Fairweather says the cats were well-cared for and the owner is heartbroken he can no longer care for them. She adds that almost all the cats are well-socialized and healthy and will be available for adoption after being spayed or neutered, sterilized, and micro-chipped.
