The Barnstable Police Department is warning residents about scam e-mails that appear to come from MyChart.
The messages tell users that they are eligible to receive a free first aid medical kit, but they are likely phishing attempts to steal personal information.
Police say the scammers may be using the MyChart name and branding to make the offer appear legitimate when asking the recipient to provide information to claim the kit.
